We had a fantastic time cooking with Daniel and Tigist! Daniel checked in with us via Whatsapp several times throughout the week before our class to offer help with the injera batter prep, which needs to ferment for a few days before cooking. When we finally met on Zoom, he and Tigist were friendly, patient, and generous, and we thoroughly enjoyed the conversation in addition to the food. When we sat down to dinner (about midnight our time due to the time difference), it was absolutely DELICIOUS! Absolutely worth staying up late for a midnight dinner. Definitely a rare highlight of a very weird year.

A bonus, that I think is unique to Source Ethiopia Tours, was an injera-making lesson, dinner, and a coffee ceremony with Daniel and his family on the last night of our tour. If you are going to Ethiopia and want a trip of a lifetime, we highly recommend you go with Source Ethiopia Tours.

Daniel was the guide for both our professional photographer and videographer, taking them to the north, south, east and west of the country to produce an image library and series of videos for the Ethiopian Tourism Organisation. He also organised a personal holiday for my family to the Danakil Depression and to Lalibela for Genna, Ethiopian Christmas, inviting us to his home for a wonderful meal with his family. For both our professional and personal trips to Ethiopia he organised high quality transport, drivers, additional guides and was thorough and transparent in his budgeting. He has great integrity, is thoughtful, kind, extremely knowledgeable about the country, its history and people. I can not recommend him highly enough.

Daniel was my guide for an eight week assignment to photograph the tourism highlights of Ethiopia for the country's national tourism authority and I could not recommend him more highly. His thorough knowledge of Ethiopia, his pleasant, well mannered demeanour and his ability to work through the logistical and cultural complexities sometimes involved in travelling the country, made him an invaluable companion. The photographs I captured which are now being used to promote Ethiopia worldwide, were as much a reflection of his abilities as a guide as they were to my skills as a photographer. And he knows where the best coffee can be found.
Should you require any further reference, please contact me directly. In my opinion, you would be lucky to find a better guide to show you around Ethiopia.

We travelled with Daniel to Bahir Dar, Gondar ( where we witnessed Timkat), the Simien Mountains, Axum, Debre Damo and Lalibela. Daniel was responsible for all the logistics and transport for the trip , as well as acting as our guide.

As a guide, we found him to be very knowledgeable about the history, culture and the flora and fauna. He was able to answer all our questions. He gave us just the right amount of detail. Added to that, he had a charming manner and a lovely sense of humour. We would have no hesitation in recommending Dani to anyone thinking of travelling in Ethiopia. He is a ‘safe pair of hands’!

Daniel Ademe organised and conducted a three-week tour through Ethiopia for our group of three persons in 2015. He did an excellent job of sourcing a comfortable vehicle and very reliable driver, booking the best available accommodation and connecting us with knowledgeable guides at every attraction and activity area. Not only is Daniel very experienced and knowledgeable about Ethiopia; he is also a kind person of high integrity and standards and I can recommend him without hesitation.

Daniel is one of the most responsible and diligent people I have had the pleasure of working with. There are very few who have as much knowledge about Ethiopia's tourism destinations. Beyond that, though, he cares deeply about ensuring communities in these destinations benefit from tourism, as demonstrated by his tireless work with them over the years.

Their home is comfortable, clean, and homey and everything was great! The food was fresh and delicious. We'd eaten a week's worth of injera at many restaurants, including top rated trip advisor restaurants, and the flavor and freshness at Daniel's home was better than anything else, especially for the vegetable dishes. Daniel was the best English speaker we met in Ethiopia, and we were able to ask him questions we had had to give up on with other Ethiopians because of language barriers - like about politics and history. The month before Easter in Ethiopia, everyone typically only eats vegetarian food so I actually hadn't had meat in days (weeks really) but Daniel and Tigist sourced some beef with some effort that was amazing! Additionally, we loved the coffee and popcorn, and the vegetables were the freshest and tastiest we had in Ethiopia. My favorite thing was talking to Daniel and Tigist, and playing with their incredibly adorable baby boy :)
